Reasoning Patterns

Prompting techniques that shape how a model thinks: search, deliberation, planning, and self-checking.

Reasoning patterns are prompting techniques that influence how a model arrives at an answer: whether it deliberates step-by-step, explores multiple solution paths, or plans before acting.

These techniques are not “agent frameworks” by themselves, but they are foundational for agent behavior: tool selection, multi-step problem solving, re-planning, and verification.
